If you are a dreamer, come in…
Welcome to the Cheverly Writers website! The Cheverly Writers are a group of Cheverly (or Cheverly-adjacent) folks who share a passion for writing. Some are published authors, some are aspiring published authors, and some are just looking for a little motivation. Poetry, fiction, and nonfiction walk hand in hand as we meet to discuss what we’re working on, what we want to work on, what we once worked on, and whatever else comes up.
We are a fairly new group – established in July 2019 – and have hit the ground running. Check out below to see some of our upcoming meetings and other events.
Group Reading and Signing
Friday, 1/17 @ 7:00pm – My Dead Aunt’s Books
Three of our members, Diana Ward, Bob Matthews and Dustin Fisher will be reading selections from their writings.
Diana will be presenting a piece from her in-progress memoir: “Love, Loss and Lunacy.”
Bob will present his blog post “Getting Older, Sliding Into Getting Old,” as well as a selection from a new short story inspired by his trips to Ireland.
Dustin Fisher will be presenting selections from his hilariously insightful book “Daddy Issues: Tales of an average guy and his daughter learning how to raise each other.”
Susan Russo will provide a musical introduction. Susan will be playing selections from Suite in D Minor by JS Bach on the viola.
The Cheverly Writers Group is made up of published and non-published writers that live in or near Cheverly. We have joined together to encourage and promote the art and craft of writing.
We look forward to having you join us for an engaging evening.
